What connects Contemporary and music of Ars Nova? The notion "micro". Instrumental music of Ars Nova challenges even today, as in interpretation so in technical demand of musicians. Microrythmic ornamentation and a new developed style in late Middle Age was a u-turn in music of that time. Ars Nova postulated new rules and opened new possibilities for later composers. This kind of u-turn we recognize in microtonal music of 20th century, which developed a new sight on music material. The notion "Micro" we recognize in John Cage’s music, in his micro sounds compositions.
