Karolina Bäter

Karolina Bäter was born in Germany (Düsseldorf), she studied recorder with Walter van Hauwe at the Conservatory of Amsterdam where she got the master degree in 2004 with focus on contemporary chamber music. In the same year she continued her transverse flute studies with Barthold Kuijken at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and finished her specialization in Early Music and Historic Performance Practise in 2008.
Karolina won various prizes at international music competitions as Deutscher Musikwettbewerb in Bonn (2002), the International Penderecki Competition in Cracow (2002) and was finalist during the International Gaudeamus Competition in Rotterdam (2003).
Since 2002 she frequently performs in whole Europe, Russia and America as member of ensemble MAE and as founding member of The Roentgen Connection (2001-2011), specialized in contemporary music on historic instruments.
She participated in many CD recordings for labels as Lindoro, unsounds and Konkurrent. Karolina frequently performs in experimental theatre productions with De Veenfabriek (Leiden/The Netherlands) and Andcompany (Berlin/Germany). Since 2008 she collaborates with music management Nymbus (Belgrade/Serbia). Since 2011 she is member of baroque orchestra New Trinity Baroque (Atlanta/GA, USA) directed by Predrag Gosta and from 2012 on founding member of contemporary music ensemble Studio 6 in Belgrade.
As a chamber musician as well as a soloist Karolina Bäter is frequently invited to perform on various music festivals such as Gaudeamusweek, Maerz Musik Berlin, Wien Modern, Aldeburgh Chamber Music Festival, Musica Antiqua Perast, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Musica Polonica Nova, Aqua Musica Amsterdam, Incubate Festival Tilburg, Piccolo Spoleto Charleston, Festival rane muzike Beograd, Nymbus Festival. Next to playing concerts Karolina is regularly giving masterclasses at the Centre for Early Music in Belgrade, at the music academy of Belgrade as well as at the conservatories of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Birmingham and Budapest.
